Be Transformed
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
The world (Satan) has a pattern. It (he) wants your thoughts, your reactions, and your peace. Scripture says do not be squeezed into that mold. Be transformed. How? By the renewing of your mind.
That is not self-help. That is what happens when the Word of God soaks in more than the worldy influences which you allow.
Set your mind on things above. Not because earth does not matter, but because Christ is over it all. A renewed mind learns to think what God has said, not only what fear has said. You cannot renew yourself by trying harder. You open the Word. You keep your mind stayed on Him. He does the transforming.
Read one passage and let it correct one thought.
When worry rises, set your mind on what God has said.
Refuse one pattern of the world and choose obedience instead.
Lord, thank You for Your Word. Thank You that You do not leave us to be shaped by this world. Renew my mind today. Help me set my thoughts on things above. Forgive me for conforming to patterns that do not honor You. Teach me to love what You love and to think what is true. Transform me by Your Spirit according to Your Word. I trust You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
